Kwara State TESCOM Releases Cutoff Marks & Interview Schedule for Teachers

Kwara State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) has invited 5,928 people for interviews for teaching jobs in secondary schools. The interviews will take place from February 25 to March 1, 2025.

TESCOM Chairman, Mallam Bello Taoheed, said that people from Kwara State who applied to teach subjects that are not science, technology, engineering, or math (non-STEM) must have at least 60% in their exam. For people from outside Kwara State, the requirement is 70%. However, for applicants from Baruten, Isin, Oke Ero, and Patigi, the cutoff is lower at 50% so that more teachers can be hired in those areas.

For people who applied to teach STEM subjects like Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Computer Science, and Geography, the minimum score needed is 50%. This is to make sure schools in the state have enough teachers for these important subjects.

Also, everyone who applied from Kaiama Local Government Area, which is 93 people, will be interviewed. The same applies to the 37 Persons Living with Disabilities (PLWDs) who took the exam.

TESCOM has asked all applicants to check the recruitment portal to see if they made it to the interview stage. The interviews will take place at two locations: Kwara State University International Conference Centre and the Kwara State Banquet Hall, starting at 8 a.m. each day.
