Benue SUBEB Shortlist Status for 2025

Please note that there is currently no shortlist for Benue SUBEB in 2025. The last one took place in 2024, so we have to wait for the next recruitment, which will be coming up later in a few months.

SUBEB plays a critical role in implementing the Universal Basic Education (UBE) programme in Benue State. The UBE programme is designed to provide free, uninterrupted nine-year basic education to all children of school-going age. It aims to remove barriers such as gender, financial background, or disabilities, ensuring access to education for all.

Benue SUBEB CBT Exam Cutoff Mark

Earlier this year, SUBEB conducted a CBT to select teachers for basic education in Benue State. Tens of thousands of candidates applied for the 9,700 teaching positions advertised by the Board.

According to a statement by SUBEB’s Information Officer, Emmanuela Akese, the required cut-off marks for the test were:

  • 50% for Degree holders
  • 45% for NCE candidates
  • 25% for candidates with B.A/B.Sc. in English, Mathematics, or Pure Science courses

Applicants who scored above these cut-off marks have advanced to the physical screening phase.

Benue Subeb Physical Screening Exercise

Shortlisted candidates are required to participate in the physical screening exercise at the SUBEB headquarters in Makurdi. The dates and schedule for the screening are available on the SUBEB portal.

The physical screening is an important step to verify documents and ensure that applicants meet the stated requirements. Candidates must bring all necessary credentials and adhere to the instructions provided on the portal. Failure to attend the screening or provide accurate information may result in disqualification.

The recruitment of qualified teachers is part of SUBEB’s effort to improve the quality of basic education in the state. By employing competent educators, SUBEB seeks to address the challenges in the education sector and enhance learning outcomes in schools across Benue.
